In order to reduce pollution in London, all coaches operating in the London Low Emission Zone (LEZ), which is the area inside the M25, must meet new regulations governing particle exhaust emissions set by Transport for London (TfL).
To comply with the LEZ standards, and therefore avoid paying a 'surcharge' (£200 per day),when entering the zone, coaches must meet the Euro III standard by July 2008, and the Euro IV standard by January 2012.
At Grey's of Ely we have a continual fleet regeneration programme. As a result we purchase where ever possible the most environmentally friendly vehicles, therefore helping to reduce our Emissions and Carbon Footprint.
All of our vehicles have a minimum of Euro IV engines and our last three coaches have all been Euro V engined vehicles.
The
Coaches also have Auto-shut down enabled and our
Vehicle Tracking System also allows us to monitor any unnecessary Idling of a coach, therefore further helping to reduce our Carbon footprint.
